    Bobby, Our Brown Tabby

Bobby is our brown tabby cat, whom I found in Overland Park, Kansas, in May 2022. She had been a neighbor's indoor-outdoor cat who had grown wearily thin before I started feeding and petting her regularly. Before long, she started spending more time with us than with her current owners, who were happy to let us adopt her. Once she officially joined our family, Bobby adjusted easily to life as an indoor-only cat, trading chasing squirrels for chasing string. When I moved out of my parents’ home this year, Bobby came with me, settling right in. She loves curling up on my lap while I read and sleeping beside me at night. Friendly and affectionate, Bobby continues to bring warmth and joy to everyone she meets.

    Lucky, Our Chihuahua Mix

Lucky was my childhood pet, whom we found in an abandoned shack near my grandpa's home in Ada, Oklahoma, in July 1996. She was frightened, malnourished, and covered in ticks the size of golf balls. We nursed her back to health in our home in Dallas, Texas, where she would thrive for many happy years. Lucky loved to run around the yard, chase tennis balls, and bark to her heart's content. She spent her later years in Columbus, Ohio, and Atlanta, Georgia, spending more time inside watching Football, and curling up with us on the couch. Lucky passed away in 2011, but her playful, yet gentle spirit remains in our memories.

    Baby Our Blue Tuxedo Cat

My father found our blue tuxedo cat, Baby, crying and abandoned, on a cold, rainy night in January 2019 at our mountain home in Rising Fawn, Georgia. She was a tiny six-week-old kitten, the runt of the litter, who was left behind until we welcomed her into our family. Baby is always eager to eat, chase our other cat, and curl up to watch television on my mother's lap. Since our move to Overland Park, Kansas, in 2020, she has made herself right at home, filling our new home with affectionate purrs.
  • A close-up photograph of Abby, a calico long-haired cat, lying on her side comfortably on soft beige carpeting. Warm, indoor lighting highlights her fur, creating a peaceful atmosphere.<br />

    Abby, Our Calico Cat

Abby was our beloved calico cat, whom we found shortly after moving to Atlanta, Georgia, in the summer of 2008. My brother discovered her as a frightened kitten being harassed by some kids; he chased them off and brought her home to us. She grew up to be the queen of the household, always claiming the coziest spots in the sun or at the foot of the bed. Her favorite person was my father, with whom she watched TV with for hours. She traveled with us through several major moves, from Atlanta to Rising Fawn, Georgia, and later to Overland Park, Kansas, always adapting with grace. Abby passed away in early 2025, but she lives on in our hearts and memories.
